Congratulations to Bankstown Sports Swim Club member Yasmine-Bella Younes who recently competed at the World Para Series in Melbourne, after being internationally classified.
This event consists of 64 events – with 24 Para events – conducted over three days.
The Para Swimming World Series Australia is an important competition in the 2024 calendar, offering a valuable opportunity for competition and classification for the Oceania region and beyond.
Yasmine-Bella placed 15th in the 100m breaststroke MC and 17th in the 100m backstroke MC.
The 17-year-old also performed extremely well in the Victorian State Open Championships which were held in conjunction with the World Para Series, winning gold in the 50m freestyle and butterfly MC, second in the 100 butterfly MC, and a bronze in the 100m freestyle MC.
Moving north of the NSW border even more recently, Yasmine-Bella took to the pool again, competing at the Australian Age Championships on the Gold Coast at the beginning of April, time taking Gold in the 50m Butterfly MC and Silver in the 50m Freestyle MC.
Yasmine-Bella is hoping to be named in the Australian Paralympic team to compete in the Paris Games in August this year.
