BIRRONG BATTLERS POLICE TOUCH FOOTBALL RAISES MUCH NEEDED FUNDS TOWARDS POLICE LEGACY

communitynews | 18 Dec 2024 |

Bankstown Sports Club is proud to support the Birrong Battlers Touch Football Team in their recent participation in the Golden Boot Touch Football Competition, with $2,200 worth of ClubGRANTS funds going towards their uniform for the event.

Held annually in Narrandera, the Golden Boot competition brings together Police and Emergency Services personnel to raise funds for Police Legacy, a not-for-profit organisation that supports the families of fallen police officers. This year’s event also raised money for the family of Sammy Williams, a serving police officer who tragically passed away from cancer, leaving behind her husband and three children.

"Bankstown Sports Club has been a huge supporter of the team without their assistance we would not be able attend the carnival each year and contribute to a great cause" says Charles Prow, Sergeant – General Duties of the Mount Druitt Police Area Command.

The Birrong Battlers proudly represented their community and played their part in raising funds for these vital causes. Bankstown Sports is honoured to have supported their efforts and is inspired by their dedication to making a difference.
