This past weekend, Bankstown Sports Club hosted the exciting “Shoot Your Shot” Chicago Bulls VIP Experience Promotion, bringing the members and local community into the Rainforest Lounge for an exciting activation that mirrored Bankstown’s own version of an All-Star weekend, filled with live music, a buzzing crowd and an exciting free-throw shootout.
NBL-1 and WNBL-1 players from the Bankstown Bruins Basketball Association stood up to participate and demonstrate their shooting skills in the free-throw shootout in front of the members. The aim was simple: for each successful free-throw made within one minute, Bankstown Sports Club would donate $100 towards the association, contributing towards the development of basketball in the local area.
With the six players each taking a turn, they collectively made 48 successful shots, resulting in a $4,800 donation.
Christian Gobolos, CEO of Bankstown Bruins Basketball Association, highlighted the excitement of the contribution to the organisation, noting that the funds would be used towards fitness and strength equipment for their squads. “Injuries plague any sports person and with this equipment we are hoping to provide injury prevention training and rehabilitation programs to allow our players remain injury free and competing in peak physical condition.:
Bankstown Sports affiliation with the Bankstown Bruins runs deep, with over $20,000 being provided towards their junior development pathways over the past three years.
