When our members come together to support our wider community, special things happen.
Bankstown Sports Bingo player, Marie Claire, recently visited our charity partner, Little Wings, with a goal of crocheting beanies, scarfs, and blankets which will help bring warmth and comfort to children travelling from the bush to Sydney during these colder, winter months.
Learning about the organisation through the Bankstown Sports Bingo sessions, which proudly raise funds through the ClubGRANTS scheme, Marie’s compassionate act of kindness has produced over 250 crocheted items.
Marie shared her motivation for donating her time and effort, "When I heard about the essential services that Little Wings provides to families in their hour of need, I knew I wanted to help out in some way. I think everyone should be able to access the best medical care and support, regardless of where they live."
Little Wings is a non-for-profit organisation that provides free, professional, safe flight and ground transport services for seriously ill children in rural and regional NSW and the ACT. Marie’s gift highlights that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a lasting impact on people’s lives.
