Calling all aspiring lawn bowlers! 

Bankstown Sports Bowls currently has vacancies in its weekly lawn bowls competitions and is encouraging anyone in the local community who would like to join a team, to visit the club and sign up. 

Bankstown Sports Bowls is nestled within Griffith Park on Northam Avenue in Bankstown, and features beautifully kept bowling greens, a bistro, weekly events, and of course – lawn bowls. 

The sport of lawn bowls is suitable for teens and adults and is a fantastic way to stay fit and active while enjoying the outdoors. It is a low-impact, therapeutic form of exercise where the goal is to roll the bowls as close to a smaller white ball as possible. 

The health benefits associated with this sport – particularly for seniors - include improved fitness, improved coordination and skill development, increased confidence and self-esteem, enhanced mental wellbeing, and a sense of connection and support within the local community. 

Games at Bankstown Bowls take place on Wednesdays at 12.30pm, Saturdays at 12.30pm, and Sundays at 9am. Coaching is available for those who are new to the sport.
