In 2022, Baulkham Hills Australian Football Club (BHAFC) approached Baulkham Hills Sports Club to assist in funding an electronic scoreboard that would help facilitate scoring, live announcements, and club advertising.
The Australian Football Club started to raise funds for the electronic scoreboard to not only provide for their own club but also the Baulkham Hills Cricket Club and North West Sydney Hurricanes Cricket Club at Charles McLaughlin Reserve.
Finally, in December 2023 the scoreboard was installed and is fully functioning for both Cricket and Australian Rules Football. Hosting their Annual Christmas Party, BHAFC were able to unveil their new scoreboard with the help of Baulkham Hills Sports Club in front of 100 members alongside AFL NSWACT and their senior club, East Coast Eagles.
“The scoreboard brings a sense of professionalism to junior grassroots sport. It allows all the junior players to see the score ticking over, which is something that is exciting for them” says Kirsten Groll, President of BHAFC.
The club hopes to build on the momentum of the electronic scoreboard and continue to improve the experience for their members moving forward.
